2015 presidency: S’South youths plan one million march for Oshiomhole

BENIN CITY- CONCERNED South South Youths of the All Progressives Congress (APC), disclosed yesterday that arrangements have been concluded to organize a million march in the region, with a view to prevail on Governor Adams Oshiomhole to declare his intension to run for the 2015 presidential election.

The youths who also welcomed the declaration for the 2015 presidency by the former Vice President of the country, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, also appealed to the former Head of State, Gen.Muhammadu Buhari to bury his ambition and allow younger politicians to challenge the PDP in the forthcoming presidential election.

In a statement made available to Vanguard in Benin City yesterday, signed by Barr.Ibinabo Amacree, it pointed out that Governor Oshiomhole enjoys support across the country, adding that “he is a detribalized Nigerian and that is why we want him to come out and run for the presidency. In the next two weeks, youths of the South South both APC and PDP will be organizing a one million man march in Calabar to appeal to Oshiomhole to declare his intension.

“Oshiomhole is the answer to the PDP’s impunity, insecurity, bad leadership and we as youths of this country want a change. We want a leader that will have the courage to fight Boko Haram. We want a leader that will generate employment for our youths because we have millions of jobless graduates all over the country. Oshiomhole has demonstrated that he can lead with what we have seen in Edo state. and that is why we are going to hold this rally to call on him to come help save Nigeria” it stated.

The statement further urged Gen.Buhari to stop making comments capable of creating tension in the country, saying that “we appreciate him as a leader but as it is now the APC does not want distraction. We are glad that Atiku has declared his intension for presidency because he is eminently qualified. Gen.Buhari must listen to the voice of reason by being calm for the younger generation, but if his not comfortable he can as well leave the party like Ikimi and others”.
