"The Reason I Survived Ebola", American Ebola Patient Kent Brantly Confesses - Gives credit to God!

The American doctor, Kent Brantly, who contracted Ebola Virus Disease in Liberia has attributed his recovery from the deadly virus to God and not to the experimental Zmapp drug used in treating him.

After being discharged from the Emory University Hospital in the United States of America, Dr. Brantly made his first public statement since contracting Ebola in Liberia almost a month ago, thanking God for his survival.

Ebola: America not ready to give Nigeria the experimental drug

The American Ambassador to Nigeria, James Entwistle, on Monday said his country was not yet in a position to make the Ebola Disease experimental drug, Zmapp, available to Nigeria. Entwistle, who stated this during a visit to the Nigerian Minister of Health, Onyebuchi Chukwu, said that the drug was not yet available in sufficient quantity to go round all the countries requesting it.

The ambassador did not say when the drug would be available for Africa’s most populous country. He only advised the Nigerian health ministry to focus on isolation, screening and prevention. Entwistle commended the efforts of the Federal Government in curbing the spread of the Ebola virus in the country.

Nigeria has recorded two new Ebola cases, the Minister of Health, Onyebuchi Chukwu, announced Friday. Mr. Chukwu, a professor, said the new cases are spouses of the primary contacts of the index case, Patrick Sawyer, the Liberian-American who brought the virus to Nigeria. He said the new cases are the first secondary contacts to test positive to the deadly virus that has killed five people in Nigeria. The secondary contacts had been under surveillance since the outbreak of the disease in Nigeria, Mr. Chukwu added.

Nigerian Music Icon, 2face Idibia’s father dies

According to reports, the father of music legend, Innocent “2face” Idibia is dead. Pa Michael Idibia took his final breath yesterday evening at an undisclosed hospital in Abuja after a battle with prostate cancer.

He was diagnosed of the disease earlier this year and 2face broke the news during the Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy (CECP) cancer charity event which held on June 8, 2014 at the Eko Hotel & Suites in Lagos.
