Supreme court throws out suit filed by Wike against Rivers election tribunal

The Supreme court has thrown out a suit filed by Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike against the Rivers state election tribunal. Wike had approached the apex court, asking that the action of the tribunal to relocate from Rivers state to Abuja be regarded as unconstitutional. The tribunal had relocated to Abuja due to security threats in Port Harcourt.

#Ministerialnominee: Senate screens Adewole Isaac Folorunsho

The senate has screened ministerial nominee, Professor Adewole Isaac Folorunsho, the outgoing Vice chancellor of the University of Ibadan and a professor of gynecology and obstetrics.  

During his presentation, Professor Adewole said the declining fall in Education is as a result of under funding, dilapidated infrastructure and lack of motivation of staff. He said the ranking system used to rate universities in the world is usually not fair to Nigeria and Africa. 
On cultism in Universities, the university don said continuous education and awareness that cultism does not pay anyone is needed. He also said collaborative efforts between Universities in Nigeria will also help to address the social vice.

#Ministerialscreening: Senate screens Bawa Bwari...

The senate has screened ministerial nominee, Bawa Bwari, a certified town planner and former chief whip of the House of Representatives. Bwari, who is from Niger state, is the nominee that replaced Ibeto. He said if made Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, he will look at the master plan to see how he can make Abuja live to its billing as the Federal Capital Territory. As is their tradition for being a former member of the National Assembly, he was asked to take his bow and go.
