INEC extends CVR by one week

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has extended its Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) in the Federal Capital Territory by one week.
This was contained in a statement signed by FCT INEC Adminstrative Secretary, Abdulrahman Adamu, and issued on Monday in Abuja.
The INEC said that the extension would begin on September 22 and end on September 28, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m daily.

It said that the exercise was for “those that did not register before.”

“If you registered in 2011 but could not find your name on the voter register displayed during the distribution of permanent voter cards, this offers you another opportunity.

“It also provides opportunity for those who have just turned 18 years of age after the last registration in 2011,” the statement said.

It also said that the registration was expected to take place in the six area councils of the FCT  – AMAC, Bwari, Kuje Abaji, Kwali and Gwagwalada.
