Scottish independence: Obama backs case for UK

BARACK OBAMA and the United States have reiterated that they want the United Kingdom their main ally in Europe, to remain together.
President Barack Obama tweeted via the White House’s account: “The UK is an extraordinary partner for America and a force for good in an unstable world. I hope it remains strong, robust and united,”

U.S. Treasury Secretary Jack Lew also said there were potentially significant economic ramifications from the vote and that a strong United Kingdom was important.

Ex-president Bill Clinton has also argued the case for Scotland to stay together with the rest of the UK.
